Observations

the street lamps on my street (which, interestingly but not relevantly, is named after a famous spy) are offset. when biking up the street at night, my shadow passes me on the left, my shadow passes me on the right, my shadow passes on the left... and so on. fascinating if slightly distracting.

2nd. what are female philanderers called? is there an equivalent name? i've been watching mad men if anyone is wondering why i'm wondering.

Hey Kristin,

A female philanderer should be called a philanderer. Philander meant "to love men", and in ancient Greece that was what a typical affair was.

Women were always kept behind closed doors, and considered useful only to bear children, and not worthy of having affairs with...affairs were usually between men and boys.

By the way, that culture sounds exactly like the culture in Afghanistan. There, affairs between men and boys are common, but not with women.
